The birth of O’Brady’s Miami Franchise business
Great accomplishments often originate from a simple, sound idea. In 1985 it happened with Jim Melody. He had been the owner of a small Italian restaurant near the University of Tampa when he decided to purchase a sandwich shop in Brandon, Florida.
Jim knew he wanted a limited but appetizing and affordable menu. He also understood the importance of listening to his customers. With a receptive attitude to what they liked, he added a sandwich here, eliminated one there. It worked! Business was good and getting better. Confident in the quality of his own special recipe for Buffalo style chicken wings, he featured it as the newest item on his modest menu.
That really worked! The response in the neighborhood was sensational. In 1998, Family Sports Concepts, Inc. was formed with Chuck Winship, Gene Knippers and Jim Melody. Under the new company the birth of Beef ‘O’ Brady’s became a story of incredible growth. In 2000 there were 40 Beef’s locations. In 2003 95 locations and at the end of 2006 220 Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Family Sports Pubs were located in nineteen states. From a simple idea to a history of growth and opportunity. Beef ‘O’ Brady’s a neighborhood concept, is a welcome site wherever there are schools, little leagues, community sports and families.
